Leave No Trace Trail Work at Voyageurs National Park

Give back to Voyageurs National Park by volunteering for a fun and rewarding volunteer trail work project on the Kab-Ash Trail. Volunteer activities include light trail maintenance, brushing, and related restoration work during the Voyageurs National Park Leave No Trace Spotlight. Volunteers will be introduced to Leave No Trace and learn more about stewardship education. Take action and make a difference by showing your love for the park!

Where: Meet at the Kab-Ash Trailhead near the Beaver Pond Overlook Trail. From Highway 53, take the Ash River Trail and turn left onto Meadwood Rd when you see the Ash River Visitor Center sign

When: 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

How to prepare:

  • Bring water, snacks, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and dress for the weather.

  • Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required.

  • Tools & supplies provided, but please bring work gloves if you have them.

  • Work may entail bending, kneeling, crouching, light lifting and a short walk from the meeting spot.

  • Advance sign-up encouraged but not required

  • Parking is limited, so please carpool if you can
